The Olympic Stadium located in Berlin\u2019s neighborhood Westend is one of the world\u2019s largest track and field stadiums. It has been newly built for the Olympic Games 1936 to substitute the old German Stadium (Deutsches Stadion). In the scope of the 2006 FIFA World Cup it has been thoroughly modernized from 2000 until 2004. During the World Cup it served inter alia as a venue for the final match between Italy and France.<\/p>\n
The Olympic Stadium provides 74.244 covered seats. In 2009, the stadium hosted the 12th IAAF World Championships where Jamaican Usain Bolt set his world records over 100m and 200m which remain untouched till this day.<\/p>\n

Since 1937 the ISTAF has been staged regularly. Along the way it has been visited by more than two million fans who were able to witness 16 track and field world records. As a result of the large capacity and the strong fan base the ISTAF proves to be the most frequently visited track and field meeting with more than 50.000 visitors per year.<\/p>\n
Not only because of the blue tartan tracks, a lot of athletes consider it the world\u2019s most beautiful track and field stadium.<\/p>\n

Das Berliner Olympiastadion im Stadtteil Westend ist eines der gr\u00f6\u00dften Leichtathletikstadien der Welt. Es wurde f\u00fcr die Olympischen Spiele 1936 an Stelle des alten \u201eDeutschen Stadions\u201c neu gebaut und in den Jahren 2000 bis 2004 f\u00fcr die Fu\u00dfball-Weltmeisterschaften 2006 grundlegend modernisiert. Bei den Weltmeisterschaften war es unter anderem Schauplatz des Finals zwischen Italien und Frankreich.<\/p>

Seit 1937 wird das ISTAF regelm\u00e4\u00dfig im Berliner Olympiastadion ausgetragen. In dieser Zeit wurde es von \u00fcber zwei Millionen Fans besucht, 16 Leichtathletik-Weltrekorde wurden dabei aufgestellt<\/p>
Durch das riesige Fassungsverm\u00f6gen der Arena und die treue Fangemeinde ist das ISTAF mit j\u00e4hrlich rund 50.000 Besuchern das zuschauerst\u00e4rkste Leichtathletikmeeting.<\/p>
F\u00fcr viele Sportlerinnen und Sportler gilt das Olympiastadion mit seiner blauen Bahn als sch\u00f6nstes Leichtathletik-Stadion der Welt.<\/p>
